The Foundation’s Annual Grantmaking Cycle

Currently, the Grimes King Foundation supports several community-based organizations, each of which is committed to keeping elderly African American and black women living healthily and comfortably in their own homes or apartments. For many years we have awarded grants, ranging from $5,000-$20,000, to support several organizations. Two years ago, we launched a second award program – the Walter Jennings Emergency Fund. Created in honor of Mr. Jennings, a now deceased, long-serving board member, this program was launched at the very beginning of the Pandemic. Our goal was to help by providing smaller, emergency grants, of $3,000 – $5,000, to organizations whose staff were on the ground, working to provide a wide range of personal and essential services to our elders in their homes.

The Grantee Report and the Grant Applicant Forms for the 2023 funding cycle are provided below.

Current Grantees applying for refunding must complete both a Grantee Report and an Application Form.
New Applicants are only required to complete the New Application Form.
